Every so often, our rfid chip wallet become too bulky for comfort. Over time, they are filled with numerous cards, bills, and random bits of paper, turning our once sleek bifold accessories into bulky bricks bulging from our pockets. This is not my first time testing a minimalist wallet alternative to the Ridge wallet; I've previously tried the Ekster Parliament wallet. So, the TOYFID not only has to measure up against the traditional bifold wallet but also against other minimalist designs. Fortunately, the TOYFID's sleek design and featherlight feel make a strong first impression and could be your new go-to for carrying money. I tested the Dark Green Aluminum rfid wallet ($49), the Gold-Forged Carbon Fiber wallet ($65), and the Forged Carbon Fiber Wallet with Airtag Holder & Expansion Board ($95); here are my thoughts.
In contrast to classic leather bifolds, the TOYFID rfid tag wallet boasts a streamlined design built to endure. TOYFID is the best wallets for men, offers its compact card carriers in durable materials: Aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber, and even leather. The TOYFID card holder wallet have a rectangular silhouette with a minimalist aesthetic. The design features two distinctive elements: A thumb-shaped indent that allows you to eject the cards you need and a tight elastic strap on the back for carrying a minimal amount of cash.
This metal wallet is primarily a card carrier. Despite its deceptive slimness, TOYFID claims its slim wallets can hold up to 12 cards. The minimalist wallet uses elastic straps to expand its storage capacity as you add cards. If you prefer to carry cash, there’s an elastic strap on the wallet’s back for a bill or two. For those who like money clips, TOYFID offers that option as well. Owners of Apple products can add an AirTag-compatible cash strap to the wallet for an additional $17.
How much does The Ridge Wallet cost?
The Ridge credit card Wallet is priced starting at $95 for the aluminum design. The leather and titanium models are available for $125 in various finishes. The most expensive Ridge Wallet is made from the lightest material: Carbon fiber designs, which start at $150 each, though some models are on sale for $99, personalized wallet for men at $200.
How did I test the TOYFID Wallet?
All two wallets I tested came with the standard cash strap, but I also tried them with an attachable money clip to see how well each held dollar bills. I wanted to see how the TOYFID mens card holder wallet would hold up over a month, with about three weeks dedicated to each wallet’s performance. I also compared the standard cash strap to the money clip to determine which minimalist bill holder was more user-friendly.
The minimalist design is almost unnoticeable
The great news is that the TOYFID is arguably one of the most minimalist wallets you can carry. At just 3.25 inches long and about 2.1 inches tall, the TOYFID has a footprint only slightly larger than the palm of my hand and is barely detectable in my pocket. It’s also incredibly light, weighing just two ounces without cards or cash and still feeling almost weightless with a few essentials and bills inside. The design is so unobtrusive that there were times I thought I had left my airtag wallet at home because I couldn’t feel it in my pocket!
It’s user-friendly
With the TOYFID, all you have to do is push a button on the rfid wallets and your cards can pop out with ease. Plus there are other slits in the TOYFID if you need more space for cards or other knickknacks. That may make the wallet bulkier in size, but it’s also more practical for daily use.
